Try it yourself · Level 2
Where: Claude Code, in a folder on your computer. When: you paste the same prompt every week.
- Make a folder for the job, with your export in
data/. - Open Claude Code in that folder.
- Ask Claude to write her job description,
CLAUDE.md, with you. Use your Level 1 prompt as the starting point. - Ask Claude to set her rules in
.claude/settings.json: what she may read, write and never do. - Give her the task, and ask for her plan first. Read the plan, then say go.
What to ask Claude
To write her job description:
Help me write a CLAUDE.md for this folder. The job: [the report], every [day], for [who reads it].
Here is the prompt I use today: [your Level 1 prompt].
Include what she produces, where things live, the exact definition of each number, and the limits.
Ask me what you need to know.
To set her rules:
Set up .claude/settings.json so you can read data/ and write outputs/ only.
Never delete files, never browse the web, never send email.
To run it:
Build this week's [report] from the export in data/. Follow CLAUDE.md. Show me your plan first.
What to check
- The plan says which files it reads and writes, and what it will not do.
- Every number comes from a script or from the file, never from her own math.
- She stops and asks when something doesn't match.
Pam's versions: her job description, her rules and her plan.
